Making World a Smaller Place!

In the current world of shrinking land spaces and fading borders, I felt more alive and closer to the world during this weekend when we, the MSU ISA (International Students Association) planned to gather some of the most enthusiastic leaders from around the globe, and little did we know that we would discover a small global family in a leadership retreat.

Being a leader, no doubt teaches us so many things and an exceptional ability to face every situation and deal with it when you might be going through a personal crisis. You learn to stand up and spread some smiles. I could have never imagined a better place to meet people from China to Saudi Arabia, from Japan to Afrcia, from United States to Pakistan, from Vietnam to Korea. I would have never experienced and enjoyed dancing on a global scale and yes..thats how I felt when everyone joined us to do ‘The Gangnam Style’ on a early Sunday morning.

On a personal level, I feel empowered to discuss about our strengths and weaknesses, laugh on the stereotypes about the very people we were sitting with and I never thought that I would share a common feeling with so many people from around the world – the feeling of being united and blooming with confidence. As, I unfold these memories, I was sad with the goodbyes of a weekend and somewhere I sense the need to meet the all again and take this journey of life further.

Social Media has been changing the modern day industry and having said that it is very essential to understand how it is being perceived by many businesses and industries. Banking is one such interesting sector.

Banking is one of the oldest and financially most essential industries and we hardly come across communication in banks using social media like many other industries like retail and fashion. It seems like social media is way far from being the mainstream for this industry and many case studies are based on these concerns. With the growth of social media and expansion of web ad internet in our lives, it becomes essential to try to bring all the industries to the same page of communication. Blogging and the Adventures of Advertising

I sit and ponder how I began writing at the first place and all I can think of is writing aimlessly at the back pages of my class notebooks and scribbling on random sheets of paper. I grew up in the era where the world moved from a traditional to the online arena. Soon after I began expressing my thoughts and opinions, and felt that I had a responsibility to give feedback at various articles wherever necessary.

Though I had a constant exposure to advertising always in my life, it was a little after high school when I was more attracted towards the different methods, mediums, channels of advertising and decided to pursue that as a career. But somewhere I always felt the need to fill the gap of my interest in writing and using advertising for the same. It all began with making jingles and writing funny articles and poems and sharing it with my friends and colleagues, which was soon converted into a gradual addiction when the fist thing I did after I entered the cubicle in my office was writing my jingle for the day and words which I might have read in any book or article to support it. Soon after I created my personal blog and wrote my opinion on current affairs, or any prevailing issue which I read about, but studying advertising made me realize that blogging had a superior role in advertising and I have many unexplored paths.

I am still learning the importance of using blogs as an efficient tool for advertising. I have been exploring various ways to voice my opinion and thoughts and get educated on how I could drive more content towards my blogging site, monitor it in a more efficient ways, share my experiences and tell a story which people could relate to and most importantly sharing fresh and interesting perspectives about many major issues. Though blogging has not been a regular practice for me, I would definitely like to bring into practice and make the best use of it.
